We Make More Than Just Crayons!

We Make More Than Just Crayons!

As two entrepreneurs embarking on a new journey, my husband and I are faced with dozens of new decisions and experiences completely out of our comfort zone.  Marketing plans, making sales calls, social media marketing and advertising are just a few of the learning curves we have encountered.  Why start your own business if it's so challenging?  The answer typically is to make more money, to provide additional stability, make your own decisions, be your own boss, make a future for your children.  When people find out you own your business they naturally ask, "What do you make?"

We started thinking about this question and began seeing it as something bigger than a simple answer.  At Two Sparrows Learning Systems we believe that

"We make more than just crayons!"

We make memories for children.
We make art and coloring possible for many children who struggle.
We make the world cleaner by recycling used crayons into our Effortless  Art Crayons.
We make educational products that provide a solution for individuals and empower them to be independent.
We make inclusive and environmentally friendly products for all ages and ability levels.

We want you to learn who we are and why we started Two Sparrows Learning Systems.  Please enjoy watching this video and learning about the Two Sparrows Family!

A Community Collaboration Starts at Home

"Learning to color inside the lines may become easier for more children thanks to crayons designed by a Fairview Park native", pens Kevin Kelly, a reporter for the Westlife newspaper, out of Cleveland, OH.  The Westlife recently wrote a story on our company, Two Sparrows Learning Systems, and our Effortless Art Crayons, due to our collaboration with St. Angela Merici School, and other schools and parishes on the west side of Cleveland, as well as St. Ignatius of Antioch, which is just outside the westside borders.  We proudly call the people in these communities our "Color Warriors" as they help to not only collect crayons for us but promote and spread our message of inclusion and environmental responsibility.

This community collaboration is only one of many that my husband and I are proud of and want to continue to foster.

You can read the full story from the Westlife here:

Jason and I will be unveiling a very exciting announcement regarding the largest community collaboration we will be doing to date this Friday, the 18th, at 6:45 pm EST LIVE on our FB page, Effortless Art Crayons.  Tune in so you are the first to know!

Two amazing events and a news story!

Wow! What a whirlwind! We have been so busy since our launch in April and we can finally catch our breath.  Our April events were awesome and we had so much fun meeting people and sharing the story of Two Sparrows Learning Systems and our recycled Effortless Art Crayons.

Thank you to Merenda and John Deimling and their son, Keagan, for inviting us to their Bowling for Autism event.  So many people were receptive and encouraging and it was great to see such a response from people wanting to support The Autism Society of NWPA.  What was also great was that we were able to talk with Erie News Now and they shared our story online and on the local news!

Our next event in April was the Walk for Autism sponsored by The Autism Society of NWPA.  We were able to connect with a lot of professionals in the area who we have started to connect with and form partnerships with.  It was great talking with parents and professionals. Even though it was a typical, brisk, Erie day, everyone was enthusiastic and in great spirits ready to participate in the event.   Below is our booth in vendor row.  We were so grateful that The Autism Society of NWPA agreed to sell our crayons at the walk and we were able to donate a portion of the proceeds back to them.

April was a great month and we are gearing up for the summer collecting crayons and beginning to make our next batch.  We have some new additions to the website and opportunities for YOU to partner with us in a variety of ways. We are excited to connect with you, so please subscribe to our mailing list or send us a message.
